Rostered Day Off (RDO)

A rostered day off (RDO) is a paid day off work. In most cases, RDO entitlements are accrued  by working slightly longer ordinary hours across a roster cycle.

Sham contracting (sham contracting arrangement)

Sham contracting is when an employer  labels a worker as an independent contractor when they are, in reality, an employee. This practice is unlawful under the Fair Work Act 2009.  

Time Off in Lieu (TOIL)

Time off in lieu (TOIL) is paid time off you take instead of being paid overtime.
