Why join your union?
Real people, real action, real change
The union movement is made up of almost two million workers coming together to get things done. If you want to see change – together, we can drive that change.
That means better wages than non-union members, the workplace conditions you deserve and support standing by if anything goes wrong. Real benefits for real people.
Union members earn more
Union members earn $251 more per week than non-members!
Data from the ABS shows that being a union member leads to higher pay, no matter how you’re employed or where you are in your working life.
PLUS, union membership fees are fully tax deductible.
Union membership perks
There are already so many reasons why joining your union is the best decision of your working life.
But there are also extra perks to your union membership – like Member Benefits!
Making workplace change for all, into the future
One voice echoes, many voices resonate. Being part of a union gives you collective bargaining power. That means negotiating better terms and conditions for workers.
We don’t just look out for ourselves, we act to make changes for everyone. Building fairer and safer workplaces today – and for tomorrow.
The first place to turn, the last people to give up
Sometimes you just need a second opinion. Whether you have tough questions or you’re ready to take action, your union is the first source of information about your wages and working rights.
All members get access to advice and legal representation if things go wrong. Think of it like a safety net – you pay small, regular membership dues, but you’re covered big time if you need it.
Know your rights, and we’ll stand up for them together
Union members have won so many of the work rights we take for granted today – universal superannuation, Medicare, penalty rates, annual, parental and sick leave – even the weekend.
In recent years, we’ve won rights that make it easier to get pay rises, increase job security and keep us safer at work. Learn what they are and make the most of them by being a union member.
