J017 New Member Join Survey Prize Draw Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions, January – June 2026
- The purpose of this prize draw is to promote participation in the online survey of new members conducted on behalf of Australian Unions. The promoter is the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU), 365 Queen St, Melbourne VIC 3000, ABN 67 175 982 800.
- The promotion commences at 12:01am AEDT on 01/07/2026 and closes at 11:59pm AEDT on 31/12/2026.
- Entry is only open to Australian residents who have enquired about union membership via the ACTU or new members of union branches affiliated with ACTU, aged 16 years or older, who submit a complete response to this survey.
- Only one entry is allowed per person per survey.
- Employees of the promoter and their family members are not eligible.
- Entry into the promotion is free, however, to enter, respondents must fully complete the online survey during the Promotional Period.
- The final question of the survey asks respondents to enter their first name and email address to enter the prize draw, or to tick a box to opt out of the prize draw. Those who have completed the survey and provided their name and email address for the purposes of the prize draw during the Promotional Period will automatically be entered in the draw for the period in which they submitted their completed survey.
- Respondents completing the survey will be eligible to win one individual prize of a $200 GiftPay gift card.
- There are 3 individual prizes with a total prize pool value of $600, with one individual prize of $200 awarded for each of the three periods outlined during the Promotional Period.
- The prize will be delivered via email and is not transferable.
- The draw will take place for each of the competition periods as outlined, between 9am and 1pm AEDT at 365 Queen St, Melbourne VIC 3000. This process will be overseen by the ACTU Insights team. Entrants are not required to attend the draw. The specific draw dates for each draw are shown below:

- Following the draw, winners will be notified by email by 5pm on the second business day following the prize draw, and the winners’ names will be published on the promoter’s website by 5pm on the second business day following the prize draw.
- Winners will be asked to acknowledge receipt of the promoter’s notification email by sending a reply email within four weeks of the notification being sent.
- As soon as practical after receiving the winner’s reply email, the promoter will organise for the gift card to be emailed to the winner from GiftPay.
- If the promoter does not receive a reply email from the winner within four weeks, the prize will be deemed unclaimed, the winner will forfeit their claim to a prize, and the promoter reserves the right to draw another name.
- Given the prize pool total and the nature of this draw as a trade promotional lottery, no permit is currently required for any of the Australian jurisdictions; the draw will be conducted in compliance with all relevant legislation.
