Dear Senator, The Turnbull Government has introduced three bills to attack industry super funds and to open the door for banks to profit from workers’ retirement savings. The Government is pursuing its pro-bank Superannuation agenda despite announcing a royal commission. These laws are the Turnbull Government doing the bidding of the banks. They aim to kick workers’ representatives off boards, make it harder for industry funds to run while making it easier for banks, and remove the right for workers to bargain for a fund they want. Industry Super has outperformed bank owned super funds and they invest in Australian infrastructure which creates jobs. The banks are involved in countless scandals, including ripping off workers’ super accounts by more than $200 million. Worse still, they're now under investigation for ripping off between $800 million and $1.8 billion from workers' super. I don’t trust the banks with my super, and neither should you. The Turnbull Government is doing the banks’ bidding so they can make money from workers’ super. I ask that you stand up to defend industry super from the Turnbull Government and the banks and oppose these bills. Yours sincerely,
