Young workers have been discriminated against in their pay packets for too long.

So-called junior rates hit workers over the age of 18 in the pocket, even though they are old enough to vote, drive, and join the military. They are adult in law, but not in pay.

We don’t think this is fair.

Young workers on junior rates can take home just 70% of what their older colleagues are making, even though they are working side by side doing the same jobs.

Young workers don’t get youth discounts on rent or bills, so why are their wages discounted?

Make your voice heard by supporting the campaign for all workers over 18 to receive adult wages.

Huge news!

On 31 March 2026, the Fair Work Commission officially ruled to abolish junior pay rates for workers aged 18+ under the retail, fast food and pharmacy awards.

The changes mean that workers aged 18 to 20, who have more than six months’ experience with their current employer, will receive 100% of the full adult rate of pay for their classification.
