Dear Scott Morrison,
I am writing to ask you to take urgent action to have the Morrison Government reverse their decision to deny free and accessible Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) to the whole community.
Australia is now experiencing our worst days since the start of the pandemic and some of the highest rates of infection in the world. This is causing workers to get sick and business to close and reduce operations.
Essential workers are being expected to put themselves in harm’s way to keep the country going and in many cases without the protections they need. Public anxiety has imposed a virtual lockdown in many parts of the country, crippling small business, costing jobs and threatening our economic recovery.
The Morrison Government has ignored repeated calls over the last 6 months from health experts, business, and unions regarding the urgent need to procure RATs as an essential part of our Covid defence.
Free RATs are needed for the whole community to limit the spread and keep people safe.
The failure of the Federal Government to act and to provide free and accessible RATs puts us all in harm’s way.
