The people of Sydney’s vast western suburbs are often spoken about – but very rarely spoken with.

As the working people who make up the rich tapestry of cultures and experience that is Sydney’s west endure the stress of an extended lockdown and the growing menace of the COVID 19 pandemic, we thought it was important to hear from some folks who live and work there.

Billie Sankovic is the CEO of the Western Sydney Community Forum, an organisation committed to supporting the people of Western Sydney.

Nicole Hailes is a young woman from Campbeltown in the western suburbs who has lost work and access to her family as a consequence of the current lockdown.

They both give us their perspective on life in lockdown out west.

* On this episode we talk about mental health and depression. If you need help, there is someone waiting to be there for you.
