Turnbull’s second round of unfair penalty rates cuts hits workersFrom Sunday 1st July people working under the hospitality, fast food, pharmacy and restaurant awards face pay cuts as the second round of penalty rate cuts under the Turnbull Government hits. People working in hospitality and fast food will lose 10 percent of their penalty for working Sunday, people in pharmacies and retail will lose 15 percent of their Sunday rates from July 1. On the same day, Malcolm Turnbull and his ministers received pay rises of up to $10,000 each. ACTU Secretary Sally McManus said, “The Turnbull Government is cutting the pay of 700,000 people who rely on penalty rates at the same time as they’re delivering tax handouts to big business. “This isn’t fair.
