Why we’re talking more about money

Aussies have shared some tough times during COVID-19 but the silver lining is that we’re talking more about money matters – and looking for ways to give our financial skills a lift.

New research from industry super fund owned bank – ME, shows that one in two of us are having more conversations about money than we used to.

In the survey conducted in June 2020, seven out of ten Australians put their increased money talk down to the economic impact of COVID-19. The Retirement Income Review must build on super’s foundations not undermine them

This article brought to you by Industry Super Australia

The Retirement Income Review (RIR) must be used to strengthen and not undermine the policy foundations of Australia’s successful super system, which has given workers a chance at a dignified retirement and eased the tax burden of the aged pension.

Statement from ACTU President Michele O’Neil on Virgin Australia

Virgin Australia’s announcement that they are cutting the jobs of 3000 workers is devastating.

The unions representing Virgin Australia workers send our support and solidarity to every single worker at the airline today.

We are losing 3000 highly skilled and experienced workers from the aviation industry and 3000 more households will be plunged into uncertainty at a time when so many people are already struggling.
