Show your support for baby Asha and the staff at Lady Cilento Children's Hospital

A3_selfie_letthemstay.jpg

The brave nurses and doctors of Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in Brisbane are refusing to discharge Asha, an Australian-born one-year-old baby, who is set to be deported to Nauru detention centre.

The staff at Lady Cilento know conditions on Nauru will harm baby Asha physically and mentally. They’ve taken a pledge to do no harm and they’re refusing to break it.

They’re doing the right thing.

Send your message of support here. You can also upload a photo of yourself, your workplace or your family holding a #LetThemStay sign (download the sign here).

Stand with baby Asha and the brave staff fighting for her in Brisbane.

To all doctors and nurses st Lady Cilento hospital, thank you for taking the stand to protect baby Asha. You are an inspiration to me to keep on doing what I can to fight against the abuse of human rights on all levels.

Thank you to the nurses and doctors of Lady Cilento for standing up for the basic human rights of baby Asha. It should be unlawful to lock up children in detention centres.

I’m so grateful to the brave workers at Lady Cilento Hospital for continuing to work to protect baby Asha in line with their ethical principles in the face of the shameful intentions of the Australian Government. Thank you! And please, Mr Dutton, how about putting your mind and the resources you squander on cruelty, to supporting the UNHCR in finding a lasting and just way to help people who have been forced to leave their homes and countries.

Stand firm. You, the staff are incredibly brave for refusing to discharge Asha, an innocent Australian-born one-year-old baby. Deportation to Nauru detention centre is a disgrace and an indictment on us as a nation if this should occur.

You are indeed doing the right thing.

I wish you every success. Very proud of you. I’m sorry that this action for protecting the innocents has fallen to you… but I’m very happy that it has too. You are showing the courage and decency that I would have expected from Australians everywhere, but that is seriously lacking. I hope your actions are roundly celebrated and that if we are placed in a similar situation we will act with honour and courage as you have.
