The ACTU Healthy Work Conference will be held this year at the Adelaide Convention Centre on 20-21 November, with a welcome event on the evening of 19 November. This conference is hosted in partnership with SA Unions and the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA).

The conference will bring together unionists and our allies in health and safety to build the capacity of our movement to win safer and healthier work, with the theme this year being From Risk to Rights: Collective Action for Safe and Healthy Work.

Hon Amanda Rishworth MP
In 2007, Amanda Rishworth was elected as the Member for Kingston at 29 years of age.
Amanda is the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations.
She previously held the positions of Shadow Minister for Early Childhood Education and Development, Shadow Minister for Youth, Shadow Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Defence Personnel, Minister for Social Services, and Minister for the NDIS.

Giridharan Sivaraman
Giridharan Sivaraman commenced as Australia’s Race Discrimination Commissioner in March 2024.
Prior to becoming Commissioner, he was Principal Lawyer with Maurice Blackburn where he led the firm’s Queensland Employment Law department. He also held the position of Chair of Multicultural Australia from 2021-2024 and was a member of the Queensland Multicultural Advisory Council from 2019-2024, where he was an advocate for the rights of victims of racial vilification.

Marie Boland has been the CEO of Safe Work Australia since 1 November 2023.
Marie’s WHS experience spans many roles, including completing the 2018 National Review of the model WHS laws (Boland Review).
