NUW members are protesting the decision of Super A-Mart (owned by Quadrant Private Equity) to reject the workers' request for a pay rise (the first in three years) because they're an "Award wage company".
The NUW will be holding a protest in Hyde Park (near Archibald Fountain) at 11.45 on Thursday 10 April. After meeting in Hyde Park the protest will move to the Quadrant headquarters at 126/130 Phillip Street, Sydney.
This protest will signify the end of the NUW's 'Low Wage Bus Tour' which will have travelled from Victoria, to Canberra and then NSW. The bus tour has been asking Members of Parliament and the CEO of Private Equity to sign onto being paid the minimum wage.
All unions are invited to attend with your flags to make a stand against low wages.
